Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 9, 2026

Who we are

The Biz People ("we," "us," or "our") is a strategic business coaching and agency brand based in South Florida, led by founder and CEO Melody Duarte. We respect your privacy, and this policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to our website thebizpeople.com, our client portal, our emails, our events, our online store, and any forms you fill out with us, including forms on Facebook and Instagram. By using any of these, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you download a free resource, fill out a form, book a call, buy a product or event ticket, sign a contract, or become a client, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, business name, Instagram handle, and anything you choose to share about your business and goals.

Information from Facebook and Instagram lead forms. When you submit one of our forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta shares with us the details you entered, such as your name, email, phone number, and your answers to our questions.

Client information. If you work with us, we may keep notes from our sessions, your business plans, goals, and progress (including revenue figures you choose to log in your client portal), and records of what you have purchased from us.

Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment providers. We do not store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website or interact with our ads and emails, we and our partners may collect information such as your device and browser type, pages viewed, links clicked, and general location, using cookies, pixels, and similar tools.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Send you the free resources you request, such as the Purpose and Dreams Sheet
  • Schedule and hold calls, coaching sessions, and events
  • Deliver our coaching, agency, and event services, including your client portal
  • Process payments, contracts, and invoices
  • Send emails about our resources, programs, and events, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
  • Follow up with you after you reach out or book a call
  • Understand how people find and use our website and ads so we can improve them
  • Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

How we share your information

We share your information only as needed to run our business and serve you:

  • Service providers that help us operate, such as our website and store host, email and checkout platform, scheduling tool, client management and contracts platform, accounting software, and workspace and automation tools. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
  • Our specialist partners. If you ask us to connect you with one of our partners (for example, for content and ads, operations, financial diagnostics, contracts and trademarks, automations, or mindset mentoring), we share the details needed for that introduction, with your knowledge.
  • Advertising platforms such as Meta, as described in the next section.
  • Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, our clients, or others.
  • A business transfer, if The Biz People is ever merged, sold, or reorganized.

The tools we currently use include Squarespace, Flodesk, Calendly, HoneyBook, Google Workspace, Zapier, QuickBooks, and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Each has its own privacy policy.

Advertising, cookies, and tracking

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. We use the Meta Pixel and similar tools on our website to understand which ads bring people to our pages, to measure actions like downloads and booked calls, and to show our ads to people who may be interested. Meta may collect information about your activity on our site and combine it with information it already has, under Meta's own privacy policy.

You can manage how Meta uses your information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of our website may not work as well without them.

Emails and text messages

If you join our email list, download a free resource, or submit one of our forms, we may send you emails about our resources, programs, and events. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We will still send messages you need, such as booking confirmations and client updates.

If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your request or a call you booked. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any text to opt out. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to serve you, run our business, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including access codes for each client portal and trusted platforms with their own security measures. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what personal information we have about you
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal or business records
  • Stop sending you marketing emails or texts

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first.

Children

Our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has shared information with us, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our website, emails, and portal may link to other websites, including our partners' sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use our website or services after an update means you accept the updated policy.
