Busy Season Is Here: Your First-of-the-Month CEO Checklist for Q4
Meta description: Q4 has arrived. Here's the first-of-the-month checklist The Biz People uses with every client, plus how to make the most of October and set up a strong 2027.
Welcome to Quarter 4, everyone. Busy season has officially arrived, and this is the quarter that decides how your year ends. Buyers are ready to spend, the holidays are coming, and there are thirteen weeks left between today and December 31.
The owners who win Q4 aren't the ones who work the most hours in December. They're the ones who sat down on October 1 and made a plan. Here's the checklist I walk through with clients on the first of every month.
Step one: look back first
Step one: look back first
Before you plan forward, get honest about last month.
Review your revenue and expenses. Look at what came in, what went out, and where the money actually went.
Look at what sold and what didn't. Your best-selling offer is telling you where to put your energy this month.
Check your profit, not just your sales. A busy month with no profit is a warning sign, not a win. If your numbers aren't telling you much, that's exactly what our financial diagnostics are for.
Step two: plan the month
Set October's revenue goal. Write down a real number, then work backward to how many clients or sales it takes to get there.
Pick the one offer to push. When you promote everything, people buy nothing. Choose one offer and give it the spotlight.
Get your marketing ready this week. Plan your content and promotions before Monday morning, not on the day you need to post.
Step three: open your calendar
Every month, check whether these are booked:
A networking event
An education opportunity
A photoshoot
Your own CEO day
If any of these are blank, this is your sign. Your calendar is a reflection of your priorities, and the owners who grow are the ones who protect time to work on the business instead of only in it.
How to make the most of October
October is planting season. What you set up now is what you'll harvest in December.
Start your holiday offers now. Gift cards, packages and bundles take weeks to market. If you wait until December, you've missed the window.
Follow up with every warm lead. Go back through every inquiry and past client from the last 90 days. A simple check-in turns into bookings more often than you'd think.
Plan Black Friday before November. Decide the offer, the price and the dates this month so November runs itself.
Plan 2027 in one room
On November 20, we're hosting our Master CEO Day: one full day with business owners who are serious about next year. You'll leave with your 2027 plan, a clear look at your numbers and your very next moves. There are only 15 seats, and they go quickly.
Grab your seat at thebizpeople.com. And if you're not sure where to focus this quarter, book a free 15-minute strategy call and we'll figure it out together.
Here's to the busiest, most profitable season yet.
